Designer | Germany

Hermann August Weizenegger (1963) studied Industrial Design in the class of Hans (Nic) Roericht at Berlin University of the Arts. In 1993 he founded the design agency Vogt + Weizenegger together with Oliver Vogt, followed by 16 years of international success. Since 2009 Hermann August Weizenegger runs his own design studio HAW, which is renowned for its exhibitions showing thematically and artistically demanding projects.

Since 2016 the Atelier HAW has worked increasingly on series products for manufacturers, such as Rolf Benz / Freistil and Pulpo. The glass items resulting from Weizenegger’s two-year collaboration with glass producer Theresienthal were awarded first prize for applied art in 2013 for outstanding achievements in the area of glass by the Zeughaus Messe exhibition. In 2014 the collaboration was once again honoured with the German Design Award (Special Mention). Over the last few years the designer has repeatedly been a board member to juries and worked as a curator. He holds a professorship in Industrial Design at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences since 2004.
